Acer Recovery CD

We have an Acer computer that came with a Recovery CD. We are moving the computer from a Student lab to a teacher’s desk so I booted to the Recovery CD and reformatted the hard drive and then tried to use the recovery CD to reinstall Win 95 but it says it is not the right CD. So I used a retail version of 95 and installed but on first restart it says insert system disk and restart. I booted from a floppy and checked the C drive, I can see Windows but cannot run it or get the computer to bootto it. I tried low level format of hard drive. I contacted Acer but computer is out of warranty and they won’t help. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?
