ADSL Modem Problems

I bought a 3COM ADSL dual port modem 3CP4130
and are having difficulties setting it up. According to the instruction, I thought I should have dial-up networking for the ADSL modem too for me to enter the username and password, but I’m not. Can anyone who has setup before, let me know what’s wrong.
