After IE5.5, Explorer.exe page fault!

Dear Mates:

I’m running Windows 98 (not SE) and after updatins IE to 5.5 release, my system hang after the login with this error:

Explorer.exe
This program has performed an illegal operation an will be shutdown.

Details:
Explorer.exe caused an invalid page fault in module at 0000:Bfbf400

I’ve reinstalled my Windows from CD-ROM and a clean Boot Disk, nothing!

Then, I’ve renamed my explorer.exe and extract a fresh one from the .CABs, but the error still occurring!

Boot on Safe Mode, prayd to all Saints …

Can anymore help me before I run the Format c:?
