AGP 1x/2x/4x in P4 systems…

by luds . Updated 24 years, 6 months ago

Does anyone have a site or something that explains the AGP use in P4 MoBo’s ? I thought the chipset used for P4 only supports
1.5 v, meaning AGP 2x, which needs 3.3 v, will not be available. Closer inspecting the Intel homepage now shows that AGP 1x/2x and 4x are all supported , but only with 1.5 v.

Wouldn’t that mean a change in the gfx card design, to cater for the 1.5 v requirement, thus moving away from the AGP2x standard ?

A board with 1x and 2x is designed to run at 1.5V ?(as a cheap gfx solution, I presume) ? Any idea, which gfx cards would do that ?
