I have Pentium II 400Mhz/160RAM Win98v2 Gateway G6-400. Soundblaster Live sound card was installed, as well as an ATI All-in-Wonder Video card. I also have a 3com NIC, but no other add-in cards. When first installed, all cards worked together fine. Then one day (2 wks later) on boot-up I got the Post beep sequence for bad video card & no video at all. (System is on UPS with surge protection)I played with re-installing cards and changing settings & now it will boot Ok & seems to run OK, but on shut down I get a msg to “Free PCI resources for Sound Blaster Live Card.” After about three minutes it will finish shutting down. Any idea why an otherwise functional system would all of a sudden lose video in a configuration that was working, and then when reconfigured and running again, appears to have stopped properly sharing resources between components? (there are no errors noted in Device manager)
