AMD Duron 1.1 freezes up- HELP?

My computer is a 1.1 AMD Duron with 200MHz FSB, an Asus A7A266 M/B with the ALi M1647 chip, 512 MB SDRAM, Audigy soundcard, Powercolor GeForce2 Ti vid card with W/98se OS. Have downloaded all the drivers for operating in W/98se and still freezes up.What can I do to stop this other than getting a P4. No help from Asus or AMD. At a loss. Was told that W/XP will not have this prob…this true? Help please. Thanks!
