Hi, I have just built a system using an AMD k62 500Mhz cpu on a Jet motherboard. I used a Sparkle 32Mb ge-force2MX graphics card which is giving me some problems.
Generally it works o.k but occasionally (1 in 6 boots) it boots up with the screen resolution so low that you can’t get more than 8 icons on screen at a time , windows are huge and you can only resolve it by going into properties and increase the screen resolution with some hit and miss use of the tab and arrow keys, as you can’t get to the relevant slider controls.
I would guess that the screen resolution is around 200 x 300 ppi.
ANY IDEAS GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.
I’m fairly convinced that it must be this card causing the problem but have not come across it before. At thesame time I fitted an identical card to an athlon 800Mhz
and have just heard that this has just experienced the same problem !
Please let me know if you have any experience of this and hopefully how I can resolve it.
The PC checks out fine with Check-it Pro and Soft Sandra diagnostic tools.
