Apple Mac Experience

I’ve been involved with PCs for many years and I think it’s time to have a go with an Apple of some description. Looking at various Web auctions I could buy something for a couple of hundred dollars that is in working condition. I’d like some adviceon the models that are best to look at as a starter system. I don’t want to spend a grand on an iMac much nearer $200 dollars would be better, I have spare hard disks (SCSI & EIDE) and RAM to upgrade as necessary. I remember our Mac support people raving over the PowerMac a few years ago but there are various models…. Over to you guys for some advice please.
