Asus A7V with Matrox G200 AGP

A computer tech has just installed an Asus A7V. After he left the computer kept crashing and no games would run. I have taken out Voodoo2 3DAcc card, so, no more crashes! As far as I can see the Matrox card does not fit correctly in the AGP slot, ie. it is impossible not to insert the tab at the end. Dx8 always freezes when I try to run AGP texturing tests. (worked fine with P3 motherboard, unfortunately it got zapped by power surge!)I have reformatted, reinstalled Win98and updated drivers. Don’t know what to do next?
