Hi,
I have Toshiba 1625CDT laptop with Crystal CS4281 pci audio sound card. My sound card seems to have problems.
I control panel/system the sound card driver is showing as enabled and working. But in control panel/multimedia the audio tab is totally grayed. My CD Audio is working fine with inbuilt speakers(so no problem with speakers). I even upgraded the sound driver to version (3/14/2000) no improvement. I removed and resintalled the driver no results. My warranty has expired and Toshiba support says my card might have problems.I tried to use Windows Media player/Winamp/Logitech Webcam all came out and said there is “no audio device”. I cannot see the volume control in desktop screen/ i cannot launch from startup.
QA1 # should i replace the card
if so where can i get a spare/how much does it cost.
QA#2 Is there anything that can be done to correct without going for harware change.
Please Help
