Automated Testing: PC and mainframe

Scenario: Mainframe customer has outsourced primary applications. ASP only allows use of Mercury Interactive family of products on their systems. Customer desperately wants to automate regression testing.

Problem:
Can any Mercury productscapture and replay mainframe screens?

Is there another product that is PC-based that can capture and replay mainframe screens that customer can run from their site to avoid ASP limitation to Mercury? or a product that interacts with Mercury?
Are there any other configurations to solve this problem?
