Backup battery

In January of 2001 I installed a USB card in my
computer (Pentium I 233mghz processor), and since
then I have been having trouble keeping a good
button battery in it. The CMOS backup battery that
keeps my date and time accurate when the computer
is turned off keeps running down after three to
six months. Any suggestions?
