Bad File Format In Quark xpress

I created a 36 page document in Quark Xpress (Win98). It is stored on my company’s network server. When I try to open up the file, it gives me an error saying “Bad File Format”. I contacted the tech support at Quark and they say I’m not supposed to work on my document on the network in Quark. Is there any way that I can open up this file and retrieve the information? I’ve copied the file to other servers, burned a cd, copied it to my hard drive and tried accessing it on other computers (including Mac’s). None of these have worked. Help please!!!!
