beep codes

I have a dual boot system. Im running windows 98 and win nt 4.0. When i boot into win 98 i get two short beeps right after the drivers load….the machine is a dell latitude laptop with AO3 bios…

i booted step by step in hopes of recieving a message about the beeps but there was none..

any advice appreciated….

p.s.
when the system was handed to me it had trouble on the win98 side… i couldnt see any of the hardware under device manager..
everytime i’d boot up the hardware manager would pop up and try to install video drivers .
i could however see all hardware under safe mode…..
i reinstalled win 98 over top and now everything works but i have the two short beeps….
i dont get the beeps when booting into nt
