Blue STRIPES of death?

by b9girl . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

When I boot up my computer I’m seeing blue stripes when the BIOS loads. It looks like a barber shop. I have an ASUS P2BDS mboard. Nothing is crashing any more than usual (Win2K), and so far the stripes are nothing but stripes and I can still boot up. Has anyone seen this before? Is it a memory thing? Video card signaling its about to die? The motherboard itself? I have the latest BIOS. I haven’t started ripping everything out and re-seating it yet. Frankly I’d rather not. The two things that happened recently are 1) I increased my pagefile.sys and 2) a flaky, wicked, morally and financially bankrupt client sent me a nasty virus/worm – the W32.Magistr.24876@mm (which NAV has hopefully taken care of). What should I do? (not to the client, that I have under control, but to the computer…)
