Boot from CD-ROM

I have configured my PC boot sequence as ‘removable media’, followed by ‘atapi cd-rom’, followed by ‘hard disk’. However, if I insert a bootable CD-ROM it will not boot from the CD. The CD-ROM drive is a slave on the secondary IDE channel along witha HD as master and another HD (alone) on the primary IDE channel. My CD is bootable on other PCs.
