bootup problem

Recently I installed a new WD hard drive in my computer. This system has a pentium 100mhz processor. The system does recognize the new hard drive. I have set the cmos to the settings from the manual. After memory testing and normal system startup screen display I get the error message:”boot disk failure,insert system disk and press enter.”
I’ve tried three different floppy drives and still get the above error message. Could anyone tell me how to correct this problem so I could partition and format this new hard drive? Any help will be appriciated. Thanks.
