Bought a LEXMARK x63

I recently purchased a printer/scanner/fax machine. When I unpacked it I found a note that says I can’t use it with WIN95. I want to avoid upgrading. I’m afraid I may lose some or all my programs and have to re-install all over again. Is thre a way to avoid upgrading? Also it didn’t come with a USB cable nor does it have a parallel connection. I don’t get it? Why must I purchase a cable?
