Broken scandisk?

I’m A+ certified,but even people who know a lot, have questions. I have had a problem running my PC’s scandisk after a crash. I ran my PC through a through scandisk, everything is fine I can run scandisk in DOS. But it is something linked into calling up scandisk (when it crashes) in DOS. Is there a missing .ini,.bat file, or something. I know I can reload windows,it will surely fix it but there has to be a file I can edit?
