Buffer Overruns – Using HP9700 CD-RW

Does anyone have a suggestion to solve my problem with buffer overruns? I am using 2 drives. Master is CD-R and Slave is the HP9700. I have tried everything recommended by HP without success. I am using Windows 98 second addtion,Asus CUV4X-E Motherboard with a Celeron 700 MH,256MB Memory.
I have closed all open applications and show over 83% of resources available.
