C: is named E: by default

I have installed Windows 2000 PRO on a HP BRIO. I have only one drive (seagate)in system. The HDD jumper settings are set to Master-Single. It works fine just labels drive incorrectly

However Windows 2000 sees this drive as the E: drive, even tho the bios reports it as the Primary master. Any ideas whats up here?
