Cable Internet

I have a cable internet connection on a computer that is networked to another computer (just the two, no hubs). The network connection is fine, I can see both computers. No matter what I try I cannot get the second computer to connect to the internet through the cable modem on the first. I know there is a way to do this without purchasing another IP address from the cable company but I can’t figure it out. Any suggestions?
