Can I edit DMI??

I’m getting the message verifying DMI pool data message. Looking around people give the advice that you need to boot off the floppy/cdr, and this will work. I can’t manage to boot off of any device regardless.
Can I control the DMI, can I access it or can anyone tell me how to get past it, not using whats already been stated on this site?
