Cannot Change Pagefle size from 20 mb

Platform Win2k, Drive C: = 6.0 GB, Space Available 4398 MB, Paging file
Inital size 190 MB, Maximum size 400 MB, Currently allocated 20 MB. Checked
Registory it indicates Pageingfiles = 190 400. Everytime I boot I get a
“Pagingflie error, either does not exist or too small”. Try to change it up or
down, nothing happens, set it to 0 and still nothing happens other then I have to reboot for “changes to take effect”. No matter how I change it the “Currently allocated” will not change. I purchased Winternals ERD Commander and used it to delete the “temppf.sys” but each time I reboot the file reappears. Any body any ideas?
