Can’t copy/paste files on new UDMA HD

I have an AMD Athlon 600mhz pc. I just installed a new 45 gig Ultra ATA 66 hard drive. I can see the entire hard drive in Windows 98 and everything is working great. I can download software, install software, do anything I want except cut and paste files or folders. Any ideas?
