Can’t See DVD Drive in Win2K Pro

I have a Dell computer (running Widows 2000 Pro) with an NEC DVD-ROM IDE drive installed. It worked great for several weeks, then all of a sudden it stopped showing up in My Computer or with NT Explorer. The System properties shows the drive, but my Computer Manager tool shows the drive with a red circle with a white X inside it. The properties screen shows that the Library for this device doesn’t exist. I have tried removing it in Device Manager and restarted the PC, but it still doesn’t show up. Any ideas?
