Can’t wake up pc from sleep mode.

I have a Win98 station that after a few nights of being in suspend mode just won’t wake up. I move the mouse, hit the keyboard and nothing happens. I eventually have to reboot, then of course go through scan disk because I didn’t shut down correctly. Any suggestions?
