CD-Burner

When I am writing it is always overflowing the buffer while writing a track to a cd-r. It starts out fine, but then the buffer goes to zero and it fails. I have plenty of free hd space. The computer is a 300 AMD with 64 mb ram. I just ran defrag. Is there anything else that could be causing it to fail?
