CD CREATOR (NOT RESPONDING) WHILE BURNIN

I am running Windows 98 SE. I have a 16x Yamaha CD-WR. When burning Audio CD’s the software stops responding at track 15. I have to end task each time making the CD-R unuseable. There is a red light that comes on the case also.
I am not sure what the light is trying to tell me.
Perhaps memory???? I have 256 RAM and 60 Gig hard drive.
I seem to begin this problem when I installed DSL.
Once time I disconnected DSL, and the CD burned fine.
The next time even with the DSL disconnected, the program stop responding again. I have disk scanned, and defragmented the hard drive since the problem occured. I have enlarged my partition also. Please help.
