CD-R problem after burning

I am currently using 4x CD-Writer to made a disk to disk copy and after it completed, the CD-R cannot be play (is a VCD) and when I try to copy the *.dat file from the CD-R, an error message appear “Invalid MS-DOS Function” and sometimes the messageis “cyclic redundancy” or something like that. What will be the problem? Can it be my CD-Writer problem or the software problem? I’m using Adaptec 3.5c Please guide, I’m losing many CD-R
