CD rom operational problem

Have ACER cdrw 10 X 8 X 32 that keeps giving a buffer under run error and will not create a disk.

Computer 650 pent 3 with 128 meg memory 94% free with a Promise 0 + 1 raid array with 4 40 gig ide drives operating under ME2000.

Suggestions were to free up memory machine uas at 84% before programs were taken out of startup.
