CD-ROM Recognition

My WINNT 4.0 server has failed to recognize the CD-ROM drive. I have checked the cables and have inserted a CD into the drive. The drive will light up and run the CD, but Explorer and NT does not show the drive. I have installed Service Pack 6 asDell instructed. The server still does not show the drive. What else should I do?
