We have a new pc running Windows NT Workstation 4.0 SP6 on our network. We added an internal HP cd rewriter and installed the Adaptec software. The drive functions fine locally.
However, we shared the drive just like we have done many times on other machines with cdrw’s but this one is not accessible for some reason. Any pc on the network (all running Windows 98) that tries to access this share on the network gets this error message, “\\ENCORE\archive is not accessible. Not enough storage available to process this command.” There is a Retry or Cancel button but neither do any good.
The share shows up in Network Neighborhood. Is this some weird incompatibilty with Windows 98 machines trying to access the NT Workstation? Shares on the hard drive work fine, its just specific to the share on the cdrw. I have tried cd-r, cd-rw, and even standard musical cd’s in the drive and none can be accessed. Can anyone help?
