CDRW ROM Doesn’t write

ARe there any troubleshooting/fix techniques for a CDRW that no longer writes to the CD? I have tried to use mine and it no longer writes data. The disk can not be used again after failure to write to the CD. Do these CDRW “wear” out and just need to be replaced?
