Change in database in my application

Dear Sir /Madam,
We are creating a customer query system to be working on our site.
We have 2 servers, an NT server and a Linux server
The basic site is hosted on the NT server,
However oour application which is using Java Servlets is to be hosted on a Linux server, with Apache & My SQL as the database.
The basic application in running fine on the NT server which as SQL server 7.0 as the database, I now need to modify the same application to work on the Linux server with My SQL.
Kindly send me methods which will help me migrate quickly &easily to this new database option.
