Cisco 3508 compatibility & 3Com Switches

We are looking at upgrading our existing backbone to Gigabit speed. Through research we are going to use a Cisco 3508G-XL Multi Mode Fiber switch to our DEC Alpha servers. We are also looking to intergrate with a 3Com 3900 36pt with a SX add on module. Question is: Are there going to be any issues that we should be concerned with as far as intergration between the two. If the Model of the 3Com switch doesn’t work, is there another 3Com model that can be recommended?
