Citrix Terminal Server

My boss came to me today and asked what I knew about Citrix….my answer was well not much. Can anyone give me a little insite into Citrix, what it take to build a Citrix server, ie: any special equipment. The office we want to put this in has a very slow connection into our office…is Citrix a good way to go? If you can recommend an article or website, that would be great as well.
