Clicking “My Computer”

Hello,
I was wondering how to stop the computer from looking at your floppy drive when clicking on my computer. When I am in Microsoft Word 2000 and I click the button to go back to the root of my files, (when it shows Desktop, My Computer, ect..)and then I click on My Computer, it immediately looks to the floppy drive first. Is there any way from stopping this from happening?
Just an annoying feature I would like to disable if possible.
