When my computer works it works perfectly until all of the sudden the screen goes blank and after a few seconds the monitor reports no signal. The power to the computer is still on and if I watch the HD light will occasionally blink. I cannot do anything except turn off the power and startit up again. Sometimes it will run 3 or 4 days without this behavior. Most of the time it happens when I’m not using the computer but the last few days it’s done it while I’m using it. I’m running Windows 2000 Pro and have all the SP’s and updated drivers for everything. Can anyone shed light on what I should try to correct it. I don’t have adequate extra hardware to start swapping parts in and out. Reloading the hard disk takes days to recover. 🙂 I’d appreciate some guidance on this ifanyone can help, thanks.
