Compaq Upgrades to Desktop PC

Is there a way to upgrade to a larger HD and still use the autorestore CD to transfer all the driver info. (OS win95)I was able to format the drive and can run using a copy of win98 but I don’t have any of the drivers for the modem, monitor,etc. Allinfo is on the CD they provide and that locks up at the serial #, I assume because of the differance in size of the hard drive. They will not support any changes in hardware or OS even on a chargeable phone call. There has to be a way to unlock a CDto retrieve the software. I have heard that It can be done.
