Hello,
I am writing this message for a friend. He has a home computer with these specs, and it seems to reboot at 59 minutes on the dot. He hasn’t set it up to do this either.
Here are the specs of the machine.
Tyan Motherboard
2 PIII 733 MHZ Processors
3 x 256 SDRAM 133 Non-ECCC Chips
Sound Blaster Platinum
2 3com ethernet adapters
2 SCSI Cards, 1 generic ultra wide, 1 adaptec ultrawide
2 9.1 gig SCSI Drives
1 60 gig Maxtor
1 30 gig Maxtor
8 fans other than the 2 that are over each processor.
He has tried to mess with the memory by taking one out and seeing what happens. It didn’t help. Being that he has 4 Hard Drives he has tried different operating systems and gets the same problem. He thinks it may be the sound card, but he hasn’t taken it out yet. I was wondering if it was a heating issue, but he can start the computer right back up for another 59 minutes before it reboots again. He was thinking about taking the soundblaster out and seeing if the problem happened again, but i was just wondering if it could be something else. He replaced the power supply yesterday, and gets the same results. This is on a computer that has worked without flaws for a year, until last week. Any suggestions?
