The computer I am working at sometimes, after first being switched on, behaves as though it is in sleep mode. You have to sometimes press the reset button or switch the computer off (by holding the power button in for a few seconds)and then on again. This is before you can even get it to the stage where it checks the memory, etc.
Also, the computer runs the phone line out of the modem into a double adapter. In the back of this is the line from the other computer’s modem. It looks like this:

Into a standard one plug, two socket double adapter plugs the first double adapter, and the line from the fax machine.
