connecting to internet computer restarts

I have just built a 1gighrz AMD T-Bird system with 256mb PC-133 ram and whenever I try to connect to the internet the computer restarts. I had the RAM checked and its fine I also tried a diffrent modem and had the same problem. I tried removing DUN and reinstalling it but no success, anybody else have any ideas?
