CPU Upgrade?

The Tech Support for My Quantex Pent II MX
300mhz said I could only upgrade to a 333MHz
CPU. I see CPU’s on sale that will upgrade a
233MHz Pent II Slot 1 computer up to 600Mhz.
I would like to purchase one of these 600Mhz
CPU’s & upgrade my Computer. Will doing this
work?
