GOOD MORNING,HARDWARE GURUS-
Undertook a recap project.I had initially successfully put together a motherboard, cpu, ram, graphics card, audio card, modem (WITH QUITE A LOT OF HELP FROM THIS SITE PARTICIPANTS OF COURSE)This other one got exhausting, but here it comes?I had an
AMD-k62-333Mhz cpu, bought a mainboard.it is called 1st mainboard VA-503+ w/mvp chipset. The jumpers is set correctly-i can see the cpu speed it detected.it took me many tries though.i installed the hdd that had win98 installedwith all its other settings from the other pc. I did a new installation.the problem is,when during re-start or just turning pc on it just gives me a constant interrupted beep every few seconds. After a few reboot it comes up or if it is a fresh start i have to power off & on.any thoughts will be very welcome?Another
major problem i encounted was changing monitors?After my re-installation of win98 i
removed my monitor with my brothers older monitor. The screen became a mess.I rebooted & asked to go into startup but f8 won’t let me to change display types,i had to either bring back my newer monitor or re-install & i did both.My question is 1)when you have display problem like mine how can i tell windows to change to accept the older monitor.Advice on getting in win startup mode?THANX 4 ANY THOUGHTS.Ihope my questions
did make some sense.i am asking as i encounter them.THIS ONE DESERVES QUITE A CHUNK OF MY POINTS—aziz
