Hello there. I’ve recently downloaded “DIRECTX 8” thinking that’s what I’m supposed to do to help me with new computer games. But now, I often receive error messages saying that I have no sound card, or sometimes the game can’t find “directx 6” and I get all messed up. I’m very new to computers so please answer in a simple language that I can understand. I have a new Pentium lll 533B, 16X64, 13.5GB, 128MB ram, a Creative 52X cd-rom, and an integrated SIS 630 motherboard; and all of this stuff was supposed to be everything I needed to play any new computer game. I’ve had my computer six months and its been in the shop 14 times! They rebuilt it from the ground up this time but always seem to be too busy to answer my calls. I know it can be annoying to answer simple questions to a newbie, but I expected more support than what I’m getting. I’m so glad I found your site and hope you people will have patience with me because I really want to learn about computers, but I can’t do that unlessI ask questions.
