DirectX AMD conflict

Microsoft have stated that a conflict appears with the AMD chip & DirectX. For no reason the screen goes blank although the program can be heared running.I have tried to follow Microsofts fix for this but it just seems to dissapear.Does anyone know of a fix? I am running XP Pro.
