Distorted display on 17″ monitor

I picked up a Compudyne 17″ multi-scan color monitor from a friend, and when I tested it, I found that the monitor works fine, except that there’s what looks like a ripple in the display, and it fades off to the right. I have already ruled out the computer. The problem lies somewhere inside the monitor. I’m still looking for schematics and any other information that might help. The monitor is model number: KD-1700G KDS
