!drive lettering order?

I’m studying for my A+ Core and I’m pulling my hair out with the inconsistant study guides that are out there.

Does the C:,D:,E:,F: drive letter order assigned by CMOS at boot go:
Primary Master, Secondary Master, Primary Slave, Secondary Slave

OR

Primary Master, Primary Slave, Secondary Master, and Secondary Slave?
