Duplex printing from a DOS window(Win98)

by joehunter . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

I have a HP 1100 Laserjet printer and would like to be able to use the manual duplex method when printing from a DOS window. This works fine when printing from Windows apps, but the manual duplex setting is ignored when I try to print from a DOS window either from an app that is writing to the printer as PRN or when using the PRINT command and specifying LTP1 as the output device.

In both cases, all pages print immediately instead of odd pages first followed by a prompt to reverse the pages in the printer for the other side. If the app (regina for Windows 98) is changed to direct output to LPT1: instead of PRN, nothing is printed at all.

Thanks
